Thomas C. Krieg, 73, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at his home surrounded by family after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Tom was born on November 5, 1948, in Warren, Ohio, the son of Carl M. and Margaret J. (Kemmer) Krieg. He lived all of his life in Colebrook and graduated from Grand Valley High School, Class of 1966. Tom married the love of his life, Patricia Melonzi, on September 12, 1970, in the Colebrook United Methodist Church, where they have been members most of their lives.
Tom owned and operated Krieg Farms, where he was a dairy and grain farmer. In addition, he was a maple syrup producer. His familiarity with farming also led him to be a salesman for many seed companies. Tom was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, spotlighting deer and shooting skeet. He also loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. Together, they went on pontoon boats, rode four wheelers, fed the fish and took family vacations. In addition, he enjoyed playing cards, telling jokes and making others laugh.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Patricia G. Krieg; daughter, Jennifer (Andy) Ruppersberg; son, Ryan (Michelle) Krieg; grandchildren, Adriana and Aidan Ruppersberg and Lydia and Kylie Krieg; brothers, James (Laurie) Krieg, Darl (Paula) Krieg; sister, Jane Whitely; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ronald and Richard Krieg; brother-in-law, Richard Whitely; and a sister-in-law, Diane Krieg.
In keeping with his wishes, a private graveside service will be observed.
The family wishes to thank the Hospice of the Western Reserve and Dr. Pattali for the comfort and care they provided Tom and his family during this time.
