Theodore Robinson Obituary

Theodore (Ted) Robinson, age 79, passed on March 19, 2021 at his home.  Our loving father, grandpa, PaPa, brother, and companion has joined his beloved wife of 32 years, Ruth E. (Dyne) Robinson. Ted was a Christian and carried the love for Jesus in his heart. The son of the late William Adelbert and Nola Mae (Elliott) Robinson, he was born on August 11, 1941 in Painesville, Ohio. Ted attended Cork Elementary School and Rock Creek School. He was a native to the Rock Creek area and a 34-year resident of Jefferson. In his younger years, Ted enjoyed working as a thoroughbred horse trainer.  In his early twenties, Ted served six years as an Army National Guard Soldier before beginning a passionate career of mechanics at Frank’s Tractor Supply/Sales & Cope Equipment in Austinburg, Ohio. After many years of mechanical enjoyment, he retired as a Master Farm Tractor Mechanic in 2003. Ted (Teddy), as he was known by his family and many dear friends, enjoyed trains, tractors and all things John Deere new and old. He had a passion for helping others with their farm equipment and always answered the call for anyone in need of a Master Tractor Mechanic. Ted never missed an opportunity to catch up and socialize with his friends. He enjoyed going to flea markets, vintage shops, and Antique Engine Shows and spent many hours tinkering with engines and woodworking. Ted adored the time he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, going to tractor shows and train depots; he enjoyed his travels across the U.S. to visit his children wherever life took them. Ted is survived by eight children (6 daughters and 2 sons): Ellen Varner, Jefferson; Deborah (Debbie) Kearney, Columbus; Tammy (Michael) Poirier, Lansing, KS; Nola (Craig Steven) Wiles Sr., Chadbourn, NC; Theodore W. (Ted) Robinson, Rome; Karen (Robert Jr.) Mannion, Conneaut; Michelle Blankenship, Fyffe, AL; and Michael (Mike) Robinson, Rome. Ted was blessed with 19 grandchildren and then blessed again with 19 great-grandchildren as follows: Susan Farmer (4); Jeffery Varner (2); William Kearney; Robert (Bobby) Kearney Jr.; Amanda Kearney; Stephanie Zeuli (1); Samantha Poirier; Elizabeth (Ebby) Clevenger (1); Craig (CJ) Wiles Jr (3); Kimberly Baldwin (1); Robert (John) Mannion III; Jessica Ritchey; Emily Mannion; Tiffany Robinson (1); Alexandria Blankenship (2); Victoria Blankenship (1); Matthew Blankenship II; Tyler Robinson; and Megan Primmer (2). He is also survived by two sisters, Janice Laux of Ohio and Joyce Black of Florida, and many nieces and nephews. Ted is also survived by his longtime, loving companion, Verna Wawrowski, and her three children. Ted is preceded in death by his wife Ruth, son Luke, his parents, and great-granddaughter, Isabella Wiles. Also preceding him is his sister, Judith A. Kase, and brother, Nelson L. Robinson.
