Susan Emlyn Cofer

Windsor Twp. - Susan Emlyn Cofer, age 70, lifelong resident of Windsor, Ohio, passed away at home on February 22, 2023. She was born December 4, 1952 in Warren, Ohio. Daughter of Helen Racut Shuminski and Stanley Shuminski. Married June 9, 1971 to the love of her life, Robert Cofer. Susan was a passionate steward of nature, an avid reader, and the best custom birthday card creator. She loved long walks in the woods around her home and travel adventures, big and small, with her family and dogs. Susan was the mother of Suzanne (Dan) Price of Cleveland, OH, Nathan (Michelle) Cofer of Petaluma, CA, Lindsey (Chris) Mazzei of Windsor, OH, and Jaimie (Chris) Miller of Windsor Ohio. She adored her seven grandchildren: Jasmine, Collin, Samuel, Owen, Elias, Isobel, and Eliot. Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Helen Shuminski, her sister Sandra Lee, and her brother Stanley J. Shuminski. She is survived by her husband, Robert Cofer. A funeral service officiated by Pastor Cathy McIlvaine will be held at Windsor United Methodist Church 5161 State Rt. 322, Windsor, OH 44099 on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 12:00 p.m., burial will follow at Windsor Twp. Cemetery. Visitation will take place prior to the service at church from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Cleveland Food Bank.
