Stanley Christopher Obituary

Stanley Carl Christopher, aka "Sox" and "Crip" by some, was born March 31, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio.  He was the youngest son of Paul Charles Christopher Sr. and Ola (McCommon) Christopher.  He attended Cleveland Public Schools and was a graduate of John Adams High School.  At a young age, he attended Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church where his mother was a Sunday school teacher.  He believed in God and often referred to Him as the "Man Upstairs." Stanley worked as a mail sorter for the U.S. Post Office, Custodian for Shaker Hts. School System, and a proud entrepreneur when he owned and operated his towing business. Stanley’s last employment was with Don King Productions working at the training camp and ending with security patrolling the entire King estate. After meeting his "BFFL" (best friend for life) Linda Eatmon, and their son, Lamont Eatmon, they decided to move to Windsor, Ohio.  Stanley was a spirited person and loved rural living.  He loved the wide-open spaces and fresh air, which allowed him to ride his horse "Brougham" whom he loved. He loved riding his lawn mower and landscaping his yard.  He really enjoyed barbecuing while sitting in the garage and waving at whoever passed by and sitting on his deck if not overly hot. Stanley became ill and departed this life on August 21, 2024, after a brief stay at Geauga University Hospital.  Linda and Lamont stayed by his side and cared for him religiously during his illness until his departure. Preceding him in death were his parents; son Avery Christopher; siblings: Florene Turnbow, Mildred Atkins, Paul C Christopher, Jr., and nephew Wayne C. Christopher. Memories of him will be cherished by his significant other Linda Eatmon, son Lamont Eatmon; nephews: William Turnbow, Herman Atkins (Joann), Derek Christopher; nieces:  Norene Brown (Furman), Brenda Turnbow, and his "BFF" Ronnie Kimball and other relatives and friends.
