Robert F. Jones

Orwell  -  Robert F. Jones (Bob), age 84 passed away on April 8, 2020 at Geauga Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was the son of Francis P Jones and Mabel Shaffer Jones born August 16, 1935 in Johnstown, PA. Bob was a veteran of both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army National Guard.   Bob was very active in the Grand Valley Community during his younger years.  He was instrumental in establishing GV’s Elementary Wrestling Program, as well as active in Band Boosters, Athletic Boosters and Youth Baseball.   He served on the G.V. School Board and was inducted into the Grand Valley Athletic Hall of Fame.  He is retired from Kennametal, Inc.  where he was a Senior Quality Control Technician.  Bob was a member of the Orwell Presbyterian Church. Bob is survived by his wife  Patricia Herakovic of Orwell, OH, children Debbie Jones (Harry) Jenter of Leesburg, VA, Robert (Cathy Alvord) Jones or Reading, PA, step-son Michael Herakovic of Louisville, KY, grandchildren Justin Jenter and Holly Jenter and one great granddaughter, Tatum. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Shirley Livingston Jones and brother William E. Jones. Given the current pandemic a memorial service will be announced at a later date, which will be held at the Orwell North Presbyterian Church located at 135 N. Maple Street, Orwell, OH 44076. Service Announcement - A Memorial Service officiated by Pastor Erin Valenti will take place at Orwell North Presbyterian Church, 135 N. Maple Street, Orwell, OH 44076 on Saturday, August 22, 2020. at 10:30 a.m., visitation 9:30 a.m. till time of service.
