Chardon – Orval “Bill” Baier, age 89, formerly of Williamsfield, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at UH Geauga Hospital. He was born on February 5, 1937 in Logan, WV the son of Noah and Myrtle (Runyon) Baier. Orval was married to Beatrice (Hale) Baier on October 29, 1957. He worked for Lordstown General Motors as an auto painter. Orval was an avid runner and golfer. He loved to play basketball, tennis, and football with his children. In his later years, he was a big sports fan and watched the western channels.Orval is survived by his wife Beatrice Baier, children Donald Baier of Williamsfield, Linda (Eric) Phillips of Chesterland, Bill (Alberta) Baier of Liberty Township, and Joe Baier of Windsor, grandchildren Peter Phillips, Krystal Nunley, Tiffany Misseldine, Ryan Baier, great grandchildren Josie and Maggie Misseldine, Aubree Baier and Eva Nunley. Preceded in death by his parents Noah and Myrtle Baier, brothers Junior and Jonny Baier and sister Donna Delvecchio.
A funeral service officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Stevenson will be held at the Paine Funeral Home, Inc., 140 E. Main Street, Orwell, OH 44076 on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., visitation will take place prior to services from 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Condolences may be made at painefuneralhome.com
