Melanie Louise Hallstrom

Cleveland- Melanie Louise Hallstrom, 40, gained her butterfly wings on Sunday, April 6, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Melanie was born on December 24, 1984 in Cleveland, Ohio the daughter of Harrison Hawthorne and Barbara Reeder. Melanie worked as a cook for Stouffer’s Restaurant in Solon for many years.

Her family will remember her as free spirited and lived life to the fullest. Melanie enjoyed parties and spending time with her family and friends.

Her memories will be forever cherished by those who survive her including her parents, Barbara (Larry Hagan) Reeder; father, Harrison Hawthorne; children, Monica, Mya, Andreana, Andrew, Maxwell and Josiah; siblings, Heather (Brian McDerment) Hallstrom, William (Melissa) Hallstrom, and Kathleen Hallstrom; aunts and uncles, Kenny and Jackie Hallstrom, Holly and Albert Quadros, Marge Hawthorne, Leslie and Richard Uminski, and Judy and Michael Pettye; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard and Shirley Hallstrom and Genevieve and Wesley Hawthorne; uncle, Ron Hawthorne; and an aunt, Ruth Baginski.

A celebration of life service will be held, Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 10:00AM at Jones Road Church, 8000 Jones Rd., Cleveland, Ohio, 44105.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be received by Barbara Reeder and Harrison Hawthorne to help with the care of her youngest children.
