Hartsgrove ---Mary E. Woodring , age 88 died at University Hospital on Sunday, May 8, 2022 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of Harold and Geraldine Whitten born on April 12, 1934 in Kirtland, Ohio. She lived most of her lifetime in Hartsgrove on the family farm where she raised her three surviving children: John Kennedy and Cheryl (Chris) Hammon of Hartsgrove and Jeffrey (Sue) Kennedy of Cowpens, SC. She had three marriages: John Ondrejka, Larry Kennedy and Robert Woodring. She was mostly a mother and housewife but she also worked as the Hartsgrove Township Clerk for many years and as a 4-H advisor where she shared her talent as a seamstress. In her later years she made many lovely quilts for family members. She enjoyed reading, crosswords and participating as a member of the Lily Chapter of the Eastern Star in Hartsgrove. She was preceded in death by her parents, two spouses - Larry Kennedy and Robert Woodring, two brothers Bill and Hal Whitten and one sister, Dorothy Williams. Her grandchildren are Lindsey, Michael, Eric, Gabriela and Terrie and her great-grandchildren are Delaney, Eleana and James. Contributions can be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Avenue, Ashtabula , Ohio 44004. A private graveside service and burial of her ashes will occur at a later date at the Hartsgrove South Cemetery.
