Karen Rae Bell

Orwell Township – Karen Rae Bell, age 66, died unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, May 15, 2019. She was born on April 11, 1953 in Ashtabula the daughter of George R. and Ruth E. (Dyke) Ulrich Sr.

She was married to William L. Bell Jr. on January 19, 1974. She retired from UH Geauga Medical Center and was a member of the Woman’s Auxiliary of the Orwell American Legion Post 719. Karen was also a member of the Orwell North Presbyterian Church and enjoyed gardening. She especially cherished spending time with her family and grandchildren.  

She is survived by her children Ron (Danielle) of Orwell, Kevin (Tresa) Bell of Colebrook, Steven (Kristen) Thomas of Berry, KY, siblings Cheryl (John) Bingham of Dade City, FL, George R. (Susan) Ulrich II of Virginia Beach, VA, Mary (Ron) Rakes of Madison, three grandchildren Sophie Day, Danielle, Isabelle and many nieces and nephews.  

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and several aunts and uncles.

A funeral service officiated by Rev. John Gehring-Anders will be held at the Paine Funeral Home, Inc., 140 E. Main Street, Ohio 44076 on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Colebrook Twp. North Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Condolences may be made at painefuneralhome.com
