Joann F. (Hudak) Peterson

Cortland - Joann F. (Hudak) Peterson, age 88, formerly of Bloomfield, Ohio passed away peacefully at her home on August 3rd, 2025 with her family by her side. Joann, was the daughter of Joseph and Margaret Hudak, born on July 29th, 1937. She was married to Carl A Peterson Jr. on July 19th, 1957 (68 years). Joann loved to cook, camp & travel. Much of her free time was consumed by family activities. She loved a good conversation, and prided herself on creating wonderful desserts and “secret” family favored dishes. She always had a way of putting a smile on your face by expressing her witty humor. Joann also worked at Trumbull Anesthesiology as a medical secretary, her eye for details in the small print was notable. Joann, is survived by her husband Carl; four siblings: Joseph, Jack, Tom, Maryjane; four children; Judy Makosky, Carl Peterson III (Marcia), Susan McCurry, Daniel Peterson, 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by parents Joseph and Margaret Hudak, parent in-laws Carl and Alyce Peterson, sister Donna Dobos, brother Richard Hudak, brother in-law Eric Peterson, sister in-law Gloria Sulek Hudak, and son in-law Joseph Makosky.

A funeral mass officiated by Rev. Kevin McCaffrey will be held at St. Mary Church, 103 N. Maple Street, Orwell, OH 44076 on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 10:00 a.m., with burial to follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will take place at Paine Funeral Home, Inc., 140 E. Main Street, Orwell, OH 44076 on Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Condolences may be made at painefuneralhome.com
