James E. Kocab

Greene Twp. – James E. Kocab, age 79, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2019 at Briar Hill Care Residence. He was the son of Joseph F. and Lillian (Prekel) Kocab born on December 11, 1939 in Greene. He was married to Katherine A. (Moore) Kocab on May 13, 1967 in Newbury. James was a US Army Veteran, member of St. Mary Church, was the Owner of Kocab Construction Company and worked for Weeping Willow Farms. He also enjoyed coaching baseball, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his son Joseph M. (Kelly) Kocab of Greene, daughter Debra (Kenneth Yanzuk) Dobos of Dallas, Georgia, brother Gerald Kocab of Greene, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and his loving friend Alma A. Clark. Preceded in death by his wife Katherine, parents, brothers Victor and Joseph Kocab Jr.

A funeral mass officiated by Rev. John P. Madden will be held at St. Mary Church, 103 N. Maple Street, Orwell, OH 44076 on Friday, March 1, 2019, at 10:00 a.m.,  U.S. Military Honors and burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the Paine Funeral Home, Inc., 140 E. Main Street, Orwell, OH 44076 on Thursday, February, 28, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Mary Church. Condolences online at painefuneralhome.com
