Orwell - Howard Francis Squibbs, age 86 a lifetime native of Orwell died March 12, 2020 in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 20, 1933 in Orwell to Francis and Evelyn (Hill) Squibbs. Howard was married to Myrtle Mae (Koebel) Squibbs on August 1, 1964. He worked at Grand Valley Local Schools as a mechanic for 23 years. Howard was involved in the Ruritans, Little Wheelers, 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, Triandra Lodge No. 780, Scottish Rites and Zem Zem of Cleveland, Al Koran Shriners of Erie, and a member of the Cherry Valley Church of the Nazarene. He loved antique cars, playing cards, and eating out with his family and friends. Howard served in the US Army as a Medic. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Myrtle, sister Charlotte Moodt, sons Harold (Gina) Squibbs, Duane (Barbara) Squibbs, and Kevin (KJ) Squibbs. Howard was loved by his grandchildren Doug (Becky), Michelle (Dave), Rick (Martha), Alan, Chelsey, Chris (Caitlin), Daniel, Olivia (Tim), Kevin Jr., Johnathan (Kelsey), Kortney (Justin). His great-grandchildren include: Candace, Joseph, Brendan, Emilia, Dominick, Landon, Gavyn, Jaiden and Kaylynn. Howard is preceded in death by parents, Evelyn and Francis Squibbs, sons Michael and Lowell Squibbs and sister Phyllis Demattia. Funeral services officiated by Pastor Richard Meier will be held at the Paine Funeral Home, Inc., 140 E. Main Street, Orwell, OH 44076 on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., U.S. Army Honors and burial will follow at Orwell Twp., North Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. A Masonic Service will be conducted, starting the visitation at 5:00 p.m. The family requests memorial contributions instead of flowers be made to Cherry Valley Church of the Nazarene, 3410 US-6, Andover, OH 44003.
