Orwell Township – Frank Joseph Stawicki, age 85, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 of natural causes. Born in Cleveland on January 5, 1935, he was the son of Frank J. and Genevieve (Frydryszczyk) Stawicki, Garfield Heights, Ohio.
On a trip with his brother-in-law Frank Brown to meet an Army buddy named Frank “Monty” Montalbo in Niagara Falls, New York, Frank Stawicki met Monty’s sister, Anna, in the spring of 1959. Frank and Anna were married on September 26, 1959, in Niagara Falls and lived first in Garfield Heights, then Streetsboro, Ohio, and finally in Orwell, Ohio. They were married for 61 years.
Frank was a Crane Operator for Republic/LTV Steel for 42 years as well as a farmer once he and Anna moved to Orwell. He enjoyed bowling and gardening and also assisted the community by participating in the Country Neighbor Outreach Program food distribution. He taught his family to be loyal Cleveland fans, that Twizzlers are always an option, a shot of whiskey can cure most anything, that hard work will take you farther than anything else. And he loved a trip to the casino!
Frank is survived by children Janine (Steve) Becker of Shickshinny, PA and Frank (Kimberly) Stawicki of Edinboro, PA; grandchildren Catie Becker, Harvey’s Lake, PA; Emily Becker, Springfield, VA; Alison Stawicki, Edinboro, PA; and Aaron Stawicki, Edinboro, PA; and a sister, Kay Hanus, Parkman, OH.
Frank was preceded in death by his daughter Joanna Stawicki, and sister Florence Brown.
