Emma Waid

New Lyme Township – Emma Waid, age 97, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at ACMC. She was born on February 23, 1924 in Cleveland, the daughter of Josef and Gizella (Schmidt) Cvitic.Emma married Harlan S. Waid on April 6, 1953. They were married for 56 years until his passing in 2009. She was a member of St. Mary Church and enjoyed working in her yard and flower garden. Her yard looked like a park. Emma was a long time school bus driver for Pymatuning Valley Schools. She was beloved by the students she transported. Emma is survived by sons Joseph (Karen) Waid and Harlan (Lorraine) Waid Jr., grandchildren Megan (Nathan) Howe, Colin (Amber) Waid, Alan (Johnny) Brown, Bridget (Benjamin) Reiter, Mallory (Nathan) Smith, Margot (Donald) Zumbach, great grandchildren Eric, Henry and Michael Waid, Oliver Hearn, Oliver, Clark, Eleanor and Winnifred Reiter, Beckett, Owen and Emmaline Smith, Kona-Mae Zumbach, and cousin Mary Michal. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Gizella Stochl and Josephine Hogan.

A funeral mass officiated by Rev. David Bridling will be held at St. Mary Church, 103 N. Maple Street, P.O. Box 217, Orwell, OH 44076 on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with private committal of her ashes taking place at Brownville Cemetery, New Lyme Township. Visitation will be held prior to mass from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The family requests that instead of sending flowers please make memorial contributions to Country Neighbor Program, P.O.
