Eleanor Ann (Papp) Maraczi, 101, of Champion, passed away on January 2, 2026, from complications of influenza. She was born September 7, 1924, in Dillonvale, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Kokai) Papp. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Steve Maraczi; her parents; her sisters, Mary Elizabeth Papp and Velma Papp; and her daughter‑in‑law, Annette Maraczi. Eleanor is survived by her son, Kenneth, of Mecca; her daughter, Carol (Charles) Boyd of Fort Mill, S.C.; her granddaughter, Heather (David) Duve of Wheaton, Ill.; and her great-grandsons, Sebastian Duve of Cincinnati and Dominic Duve of Clarksville, Tenn. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, playing bingo, cheering for the Cleveland Guardians, and monthly trips to the casino, where she celebrated her 101st birthday this past September. The family extends special thanks to the staff of Clearview Lantern Suites in Champion and Sanctuary Hospice for their care and support.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, at Paine Funeral Home, Inc., 140 E. Main Street, Orwell, OH 44076. Funeral Service officiated by Pastor Jody Baker will follow at 12:00 noon with burial to follow at Windsor Twp. Cemetery.
