Colebrook – Edward Francis Gaffney Jr, age 81 passed away on August 29, 2024 at his home. He was born on August 12, 1943 in University Hts., the son of Edward F. Gaffney Sr. and Dorothy (Ballard) Gaffney. Ed was married to Lynn Gaffney on May 14, 1963. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Chardon. Ed was an avid motor racing advocate. He loved to ride and race motorcycles. He was a member of the Iron Butt Association that is dedicated to safe and long-distance riding of motorcycles. He had fond memories of riding the Iron Butt Challenge with his son Michael. Ed was a world collector of diecast cars, trucks and motorcycles. At one time he ran a diecast car business and traveled the race circuit as a vendor for his diecast collectables. Ed had a great wealth of knowledge on all types of racing in the U.S. and Europe. He was also a pipe collector and enjoyed a quality smoke. Survivors include his daughter Ellandra Easton, son Michael (Sue) Gaffney, brothers John, Charlie, James Gaffney, sister Laura Gaffney, grandchildren Logan and Maegan. Preceded in death by his parents Edward F. Gaffney Sr. and Dorothy (Ballard) Gaffney, wife Lynn Gaffney and brother Boddy Gaffney.
