Windsor Twp. – Edmund J. Deis, age 82, passed away at his home on Monday, April 5, 2021. He was born on December 21, 1938 in Dayton, the son of Peter Edmund and Viola (Kolker) Deis. He was married to Donna J. (Hoagland) Deis on April 8, 1980. He was a US Air Force veteran stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Ed was owner and operator of Hit & Miss Enterprises for over 50 years. He was a member of St. Mary Church and served on the building and grounds committee. Ed was a Boy Scouts troop leader and co-founder of the Historical Engine Society. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, antique engines and tractor shows, and attending the kids sporting events. Ed is survived by his wife Donna J. Deis of Windsor Twp., children Theresa (Jeff) Hayes of ID, Robin (Scott) Blanchard of TX, Anthony Deis of Windsor Twp., three grandchildren that lived with him Aaron, Christian and Andrew Deis and nine other adult grandchildren, brother Gary Deis of OR, Pete Deis of Dayton, sister Diana Ingram of Kettering and several great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, son Casey Deis, brother Denny Deis, sister Maria Wegh, grandchild Kayla Conway and daughter in law Beth McElroy Deis. A funeral mass officiated by Rev. John P. Madden will be held, 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 12th at St. Mary Church 103 N. Maple St., Orwell, OH 44076. U.S Air Force honors and burial of his ashes will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
