Willie C. Jackson, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Willie was born on June 25, 1939, in Houston County Georgia. The son of the late John Sherman and Lee Pearl Jackson. He attended public schools in Houston County and went on to build a fulfilling career as a skilled carpenter with Local Union 105. On January 30, 1960, Willie married the love of his life, Gladys Smith. Their union was a testament to love and devotion, and together, they raised six children. Willie was a faithful servant of God and worshiped at First Missionary Baptist Church, where he became a deacon. Willie enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, watching old western movies, building and fixing things, and most of all, spending time with loved ones.On December 11, 2024, Deacon Jackson transitioned from his physical life to his eternal life with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter-Debra Parker, one great-great grandson, four sisters and five brothers. Willie leaves behind a loving family and cherished memories with his devoted wife, Gladys Jackson; six children: Lorenzo Jackson (Jameka) of Ashtabula, OH, Sandra Jackson (Mark) of Hartsgrove, OH, Kimberly Randelson (Scott) of Concord Township, OH, Nicole Turner of Stow, OH, Tramaine Jackson of Atlanta, GA, and Tanika Jackson of North Royalton, OH;15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and 1 great -great grandchild. He is also survived by his three sisters: Brenda Jackson, Shirley Jordon (Kent) both of Warner Robins, GA, and Lucy Ward of Cleveland, OH; and two brothers: James Jackson of Warner Robins, GA and John Sherman Jackson (Brenda) of San Diego, CA. Additionally, Willie is survived by four sisters-in-law: Frances Brown, Thelma Collins, Ella Mae Loe, and Lilly Bell Smith of Byron, GA; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory. Willie will be remembered for his unwavering faith, strong work ethic, and love for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and service to others.
A Funeral Service officiated by Pastor Sam Smith will take place on Friday, December 20, 2024, 12:00 pm at First Missionary Baptist Church, 8664 Brigden Rd, Mesopotamia, OH 44439. Burial will follow at Windsor Twp. Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 11:00 am until time of service. Arrangements entrusted to Paine Funeral Home, Orwell, OH.
