Dale Richard Beckwith

New Lyme Township - Dale Richard Beckwith, 92. Died April 12, 2020 at the Andover Village Skilled Nursing Center.  Dale was born April 23, 1927, in Ashtabula, Ohio.  The son of Bert and Mildred (Schiewe) Beckwith; and a wonderful stepmother, Flossie (Smith) Beckwith; 2 brothers, Donald and David; 3 sisters, Dorothy (Stone), Rosita (Newhart), Roberta (Godfrey).  Dale resided in New Lyme his whole life. Grew up during the Depression, a country farm boy. A World War II Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was married to the love of his life, Gloria Jean (Cook); and a father of 3 children.  Dale was self-employed for many years. Worked for several processing plants; going from farm to farm picking up canned dairy milk, before driving a bulk tank truck for the route. After working many long days and years, he retired in 1989. Surviving Dale is his daughter; Diane (Beckwith) Rose; son-n-law Charles of Andover; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Gloria Jean; his two sons; Neal R. and Kenneth J.  A special thank you to Bella Care Hospice for the care the staff provided. In light of the current pandemic and Dale’s request; No funeral or calling hours will be observed. Burial will be at the Dodgeville Cemetery.
