Cory A. White

Cory A. White, a longtime resident of Windsor, Ohio, passed away in Garrettsville, Ohio on April 18, 2026 at the age of 59. Cory was born March 26, 1967 in Norfolk, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Gordon “Bill” and Dorothy White. Cory is survived by her brother Gordon “Paul” White (Doreen), children, Erin, Marcene (Garrik), Alanna, Luis, grandson, Ian Cox, nieces Hannah, Marissa, nephew Dominic (Grace), great niece Willow, her five-faithful feline, Leonidas, Rhea, Niko, Phoenix, and Danny “Machete” Trejo; her late canine companions, Audie and Petrie. Cory had a 34-year career as an Art Teacher in Ashtabula Area City Schools as well as her after school activities with her students. After her retirement she was a substitute teacher for Grand Valley Schools. Also, she was a member of the Windsor United Methodist Church. Cory's early life was spent in many locations. Virginia, Rhode Island, Okinawa, eventually landing in Windsor Ohio after her father’s retirement from the Navy, where she spent the rest of her life. Most of Cory's time was spent in her garden, creating art such as jewelry, painting, drawing, scrap booking and much more. She enjoyed writing in her bullet journals. Throughout her life in her adult years, she traveled most of the US as well as Greece, Italy, France and Spain. On March 15, 2011, Cory started a new leg of her life with the adoption of Erin, Marcene and Alanna and soon after took Luis under her wing as her own. Her whole life she was devoted to her career, her children whether they were hers or not, as well as her nieces and nephew, grandson, family and friends. She also was devoted to her frogs, lizards, cats, birds, dogs, hamsters, bunnies, dragonflies- you name it! Also, Cory was a courageous, determined and a strong-willed person. She was a fighter and fought through the trials and tribulations until the end.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Jim Mizner will take place at the Windsor United Methodist Church, 5161 State Rt. 322, Windsor, OH 44099 on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Windsor United Methodist Church.  Services have been entrusted to Paine Funeral Home, Inc., Orwell.
