Roaming Shores, OH: Christopher S. Jamens, age 65, died peacefully at Geauga Assisted Living, Montville, OH on Monday, November 20, 2023. Chris was the son of Leo & Eugenia Pietchieck Jamens and was born on September 2, 1958 in Rochester, MI. Chris was married to Elaine Gill Jamens on December 8, 1987 until her death in June, 2014. Before settling in at their Roaming Shores home of 21 years, Chris and Elaine lived in northern California. It was their perfect setting for taking in the San Francisco skyline to the wineries and beach shores of Bodega Bay. While in CA, Chris worked for 9 years as a Class 1 car mechanic restoring and repairing antique automobiles and European sports cars. He worked on model T 's to Maseratis and built metro muscle hot rod cars. The decision to move closer to family was easy after finding Roaming Shores. Chris was employed at Custom Material as a Shift Leader & Programmer and eventually advanced his skills with Swagelok as a CNC Operator/Machinist before retiring and taking disability in December 2020, due to his Parkinson's Disease. Chris loved to fish and always looked forward to attending seasonal festivals in the Amish communities. He loved to tinker in his garage and could fix anything - sometimes fixing it better than he found it. He could recall any song and album cover. Chris is survived by his step daughter, Barrett Avey, and friend, Mary Schrad from Cleveland. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Jamens, in Plymouth, MI and an older brother, Michael, in Rochester, MI. Chris was cremated with his ashes to be distributed along with his wife, Elaine, in all the favorite places they shared.
