Bernard J Ciha

Viera, FL - Bernard James Ciha, age 94, formally of Colebrook and Chardon, Ohio died on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. He was born in Wesley, Iowa December 13, 1923 the son of James and Anna (Klinkia) Ciha. 

He was a veteran of World War II, earning MTO medals two stars, Purple Heart and Combat Infantry Badge. He was a member of American Legion of Ohio Orwell Post 719.

Bernie worked for Clark Controller in Cleveland Ohio until he retired. He then relocated  Rockledge Florida in 1988. He is a former member of St. Mary Church in Orwell, and St. Helen in Newbury Ohio

Survived by sisters-in-laws Elizabeth Parke of Huntsburg, Ohio, Lillian Slusher of Edgewater, Florida, and niece Catherine Ciha of Cleveland, and other nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by wife Marie (Slusher) Ciha, parents and brother James Ciha.

A funeral service officiated by Rev. John P. Madden will be held at the Paine Funeral Home, Inc. 140 E. Main Street, Orwell, OH 44076 on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 11:00 am. Committal Service with Military Honors will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Orwell. Visitation will take place at 10:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home.
