Barbara Sue (Gilbert) Sparling

Orwell – Barbara Sue (Gilbert) Sparling, age 91, formerly of Andover, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Windsor House at Champion. She was born on September 18, 1926 in Conneaut the daughter of Bert and Pearl (Tate) Gilbert.

Barbara was married to Kenneth Earl Sparling on February 28, 1948. She worked as a Secretary for several different business during her lifetime. Recently she moved to Orwell to live with her daughter, Julie, and became a member of the Orwell United Methodist Church. Barbara loved to travel and took several cruises as far as China and the Mediterranean. She was an inspiration to her daughters who inherited her love of knowledge and travel.

Survivors include her daughters Susan Sparling of Richmond, VA, Julie Page of Orwell, three grandsons William and Kenneth Page, Timothy Sparling, two great grandsons Calvin and Christian Page.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth E. Sparling and son-in-law William Page.

A Celebration of Life officiated by Pastor Jack Childers will be held at the Orwell United Methodist Church, 80 S. Maple Street, Orwell OH 44076 on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 7:00 pm. Visitation will be held prior to services starting at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Cleveland Area Chapter, P.O.
