Anita Faye Pietras

Anita Faye Pietras age 65, succumbed to a chronic illness on April 18, 2020 at her home in Cortland. On September, 22, 1954 Anita was the first born child to Walter "Pete" Pietras and Jeannette (Trendle) Pietras and lived most of her life in Orwell, Ohio.  After retiring in 2016 from Kennemetal where she worked for 42 years, she moved to Warren and then to Cortland. She is survived by her siblings: Laura of Orwell, David of Easley, South Carolina, Karen (Randy Swanton) of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Marie of North Olmsted, and Brian (Renee Masscucci) of Cortland; niece Zoe Pietras-Swanton of Austin, Texas, nephew, Tobin Pietras-Swanton of Covington, Kentucky, and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, Randy.Anita graduated from Grand Valley High School in 1972 and completed vocational training in cosmetology, later taking cake decorating classes. She was a member of the Orwell Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed baking and cooking which she loved to share with others. She also enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, and fabric art which often became treasured presents. Anita had a big heart, was generous, and her hearty laugh would fill a room. She was an independent spirit, but loved getting together for family holidays and events, monthly Trendle family gatherings and annual Pietrasz family reunions. She was involved with Grand Valley Ruritan Club and the Red Hat Society social club. Due to the coronavirus restrictions, a memorial service will be held at a later date, likely in the summer. A memorial service will be held at Orwell North Presbyterian Church, 135 North Maple St., Orwell, OH 44076 On August 4, 2020 at 4:00 P. M.
