Alice Edna (Bush) Shuminski

Windsor – Alice “Edna” Shuminski, age 85, passed away on Friday, August 18, 2023 at St. Joseph Hospital, Warren. She was born in Williamsfield on April 20, 1938 the daughter of Clyde W. and Alice P. (McPheron) Bush. Edna was married to Edward S. Shuminski Sr. on July 21, 1960. She retired after 30 years of service as Postmaster from the U.S. Postal Service. She was a true pet lover who loved her dogs, horses, parakeets and feeding the wild birds. Edna loved to travel with her friends and family, having visited England, Ireland and several places throughout the United States. She enjoyed movies, old time country music, word search puzzles, putting puzzles together, playing cards, board games and popcorn. Edna was a past member of the Windsor United Methodist Church and was a longtime treasurer for the church’s Women’s Group. She thoroughly loved her time with her cousins, brother, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Edna is survived by her children, Julie (Pete) Howes of Windsor, Patti (David) Tiller of Streetsboro, Edward S. (Melanie) Shuminski of Sunbury, brother Duane Bush of Champion, grandchildren, Scott and Ryan Gubanyar, Jerad (Nicole) Howes, Cory (Erica) Howes, Eric, Garrett and Cara Tiller, great grandchildren Abigail and Grady Howes, Ellieanna Howes, Brody & Blake Thomas and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Clyde W. and Alice P. (McPheron) Bush, husband Edward S. Shuminski Sr., and brother Floyd Bush.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Paine Funeral Home, Inc., 140 E. Main Street, Orwell, OH 44076. The funeral service officiated by Pastor Cathy McILvain will take place at the funeral home 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 24, 2023, burial at Windsor Twp., Cemetery. A funeral luncheon will follow at Servants of Mary Center for Peace, 601 Ireland Road, Windsor, OH 44099.
