Winifred Ila Mead

Rock Creek – Winifred I. Mead, age 92 passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Austinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Rock Creek on December 27, 1925 the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Karner) Raiman.

Winifred graduated from Rock Creek High School in 1943. She worked for Sanborn Wire for 24 years, sold Avon for 39 years and reported the Rock Creek News in the Jefferson Gazette for many years. She was a member of the Rock Creek United Methodist Church, United Methodist Woman, Dorset Rebekah Lodge, Jefferson Grange, Ashtabula VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Ashtabula Friendship Singles Club. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and word search.

Survivors include her sons David (Debbie) Mead of Hinckley, Douglas Mead of Rock Creek, Dennis (Gina) Mead of Washington Twp., NJ, four grandchildren Amy Metzler, Amanda Tishman, David C. Mead, John Mead, great grandchildren Ellie, Amelia, Riley, Ainsley, and nephew Joe Ambrose.

Preceded in death by her sister Marion Archabald and daughter-in-law Cheryl Mead.

A Memorial Service officiated by Pastor David Miller will take place at the Rock Creek Union Cemetery Chapel, Stiles Ave., Rock Creek, Ohio 44084 on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:00 am. Condolences may be made at painefuneralhome.com
