Mary E Hill

Jefferson – Mary E. Hill, age 93, died Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Jefferson Healthcare where she had been a resident for the past year. She was the oldest child of Edward C. and Rhoda (Landis) Wagus, born on September 16, 1925 in Stringtown, PA.

She was married to the late Robert P. Hill, whom she married on April 4, 1945, in Cumberland, Maryland. Graduated from Ft. Hill High School in 1944. Mary loved to dance, bowl, take walks, do counted cross stitch and was a beautiful seamstress. Also, she was a past member at the V.F.W. in Ashtabula. Most of all she loved her family and spending time with them as much as possible.

She is survived by her two daughters, Shirley (Joe) Kearney of Orwell and Darlene (Mike) Adams of Jefferson, a sister Margaret Wilkins and brother Edward Wagus of Cumberland, Maryland, a sister Henrietta Chase of College Park, Maryland, grandchildren Christian (Jonika) Kearney, of Pierpont, Karla (Scott) Wludyga, of Concord, and three great grandchildren, Joshua and Elise Kearney and Liam Wludyga. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers Robert, Donald and William Wagus.

A Funeral Service will be held at Scarpelli Funeral Home, 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, Maryland 21502 on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m., burial will follow at Cooks Mill Cemetery, Hyndman, PA. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Please note all services will be held in Maryland. The Paine Funeral Home, Inc., Orwell, Ohio is assisting with arrangements.
