Glenna M. Gray

Rock Creek – Glenna M. Gray, age 89, passed away at ACMC on Monday, December 23, 2019. She was born on February 28, 1930 in Zela, WV the daughter of Cecil and Anna ( Mays ) Painter. Glenna was married to William J. Gray on April 8, 1949. She worked for Sanborn Wire Products Inc. as an Inspector for several years. She also worked for Smith & Wesson as a gun stock finisher in Rock Creek and served on the Election Board at the Rock Creek voting polls. Glenna was a member of the Rock Creek United Methodist Church, U.M.W., Travelers Club, Morgan Hose Volunteer Fire Department Spit Fires, where she took firefighter training. She prepared the luncheons for the Rotary Club for several years. Glenna and her husband Bill established the Jam Session that took place at Morgan Hose Fire Department and the proceeds were donated to community projects and services. Survivors include her children John (Janet) Gray and Shery (Brian) Consider of Rock Creek, sister Wanita Fockler of Jefferson, granddaughter Candice (Matt) Latta of Andover and great-grandson Carter Latta. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Shirl Painter. A funeral service officiated by Pastor James Stanley  will be held at the Paine Funeral Home, Inc., 140 E. Main Street, Orwell, OH 44076 on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Rock Creek Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to Morgan Hose Firefighters Association, PO Box 201, Rock Creek, OH 44084 or SCAD Auxiliary, 3100 U.S. Highway 6, Rome, OH 44085.
