Glenn Satterfield Obituary

Orwell --- Glenn Allen Satterfield, age 87, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, May 31, 2019. His final weeks were spent in the loving care of his sister-in-law Jean LeRoy, and his nephew Rick Veres. Born on March 9, 1932 in Grafton, West Virginia, Glenn was the son of Lilly Mae and McCoy Columbus Satterfield.

Glenn was married to Fay Ilean on January 12, 1951, and they lived together in Rome, Ohio for over fifty years. They met on a Sunday while waiting in line at a movie theater, and they spent a full lifetime in care and devotion to each other. He retired from TRW Inc. after thirty-six years of dedicated employment as an inspector and supervisor. Glenn was an outdoorsman. He was a member of the Crooked Creek Conservation Club in Hartsgrove, Ohio since 1964. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association, as well as a member of the North American Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting, sitting by the pond and spending time with friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, his parents, his grandparents, one grandchild, his older sister, his younger brother, and his daughter Mary Bemme. He is survived by his sister-in-law Jean LeRoy (Steve), his son Darrell Satterfield, his sister Erma Mae Colosino, and his best friend Charlie Johnson, as well as multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice of the Western Reserve for their kind, loving, and dedicated care. Condolence may be made at painefunealhome.com
