Elizabeth Grace Smith

Windsor – Elizabeth Grace Smith, age 93, died on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at UH Geauga Medical Center. She was born in Chardon on July 31, 1924 the daughter of Lynn Bower and Edna Grace (Yaxley) Shaw.

Elizabeth was married to Walter F. Smith Sr. on February 16, 1946. She enjoyed crafts and playing pinochle with her family and friends.

Survivors include her children Katherine Cortright of Foss, OK, Betty Darling of Rock Creek, Susie Seibert of Orwell, Patty (Frank) Klaus of Montville, Russell Smith of Windsor, John Smith of Warren and Dave Smith of Windsor, 15 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents and husband, son Walter F. Smith Jr., sisters Marion A. Laing, Jane B. Shwinsky, Pamela M. Fillinger and Gloria B. Baldwin.

A special thank you to Tom Smith and Alexis Hebrock for assisting with Elizabeth’s care and Barb Smith with her help at the hospital.

A visitation will be held at the Paine Funeral Home, Inc. 140 E. Main St., Orwell OH 44076 on Saturday, March 10th from 1:00 to 3:00pm. A private committal service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be made at painefuneralhome.com
