Douglas Short Obituary

Rock Creek – Douglas E. Short age 81, passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 24, 2019. He was born on August 11, 1938 in Springfield, Massachusetts the son of Marshall and Madeline (Holland) Short.

He was married to Barbara (Healy) Short on December 11, 1956. Douglas worked for Smith and Wesson, Springfield, MA. He then relocated to work at the Smith and Wesson plant in Rock Creek. After his retirement he started his pig farm. He especially enjoyed going to car shows with his Ford Mustang.

Survived by his daughter Debra (Steve III) Lapoczka, 8 grandchildren Bryan Robison, Jennifer Becker, Steve, Doug, Greg, Keith and Jeff Lapoczka, Melissia (Short) Silvis, and 23 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents, wife Barbara, son’s Ronald, Norman and Steve Short.

A memorial service officiated by Douglas Camp will be held at the Rock Creek Union Cemetery Chapel, Stiles Ave., Rock Creek, Ohio 44084 on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 2:00 p,m.
