Jeffrey M. Brunsman

As of March 19, 2024, Jeffrey Mark Brunsman, age 67, is now in the hands of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior. Jeff was born on July 11, 1956 in Geneva, Ohio to Richard and Joanne Brunsman. Jeff was raised on his family farm, Brunsman Fruit Farm, in Geneva with his five siblings. As a teenager he became serious about his faith, was baptized into Christ, and joined his church’s Bible Bowl team where he began memorizing many scriptures. After high school graduation in 1974, with the encouragement of his father, Jeff attended New York Christian Institute. He discovered a love for studying the Bible and went on to continue his Christian education at Johnson Bible College and Emmanuel School of Religion. Later he completed his Masters of New Testament Research at Johnson University. Portions of his Master’s Thesis were later published in two separate theological books. Jeff was ordained into ministry at the Rock Creek Church of Christ where he met his future wife, Michele Camp. Jeff and Michele were married August 18, 1984 and resided in Rock Creek, Ohio. They had four children: Abigail, Hannah, Aaron and Katherine. Jeff served as evangelist at the Rock Creek Church of Christ for 26 years. He then went on to serve in other ministries in Ohio, Illinois and North Carolina before returning home to Ohio last year. He was currently preaching at Geneva Church of Christ. While he lived in Rock Creek, Jeff was bi-vocational, working at both Rock Creek Church of Christ and beginning his own business, Brunsman Pest Control. He also worked with his father at Brunsman Fruit Farm. Jeff moved into full-time ministry in 2006, moved his family to Morrow County, Ohio and began working with the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. While living in North Central Ohio, all four of their children met and married their spouses. In 2012, Jeff and Michele moved again to Maroa, Illinois and were employed with Maroa Christian Church and in 2016 they went on to serve at Terra Ceia Church of Christ. Throughout his life, Jeff enjoyed music; playing trombone in the school band, Marching, Concert and Jazz bands during high school. In college he participated in Choir, even serving as Student Choir Director his senior year at Johnson Bible College.  Jeff also enjoyed reading (especially Bible and Theology books), family history, and working puzzles, but his greatest pleasure was in teaching the Bible. Jeff preached his first sermon in Binghampton, New York in the fall of 1974 and continued to diligently preach the Gospel, giving his last sermon in Geneva, Ohio on March 17, 2024. Jeff is survived by his wife and best friend of thirty-nine years, his four children: Abigail Lindsey of Rock Creek, OH; Hannah (Neal) Witt of Christiansburg, VA; Aaron (Marley) Brunsman of Lenoir City, TN; and Katherine (Andrew) Fultz of Knoxville, TN; and 8 precious grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Debbie Brunsman, Jennie Brunsman, Amy (Andrew) Spiesman, and brothers Paul (Teri) Brunsman and Tom (Sandy) Brunsman. He is also blessed with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews. 

Jeff’s Master’s Thesis was on the Table Fellowship of Jesus. In honor of Jeff’s passion for this topic, the family would love to receive friends for a Celebration of Life Dinner on Wednesday, March 27th, 2024, at Geneva Church of Christ, 1007 S. Broadway, Geneva, Ohio 44041. Friends are welcome to stop in any time between 6:00-8:00 PM to visit and fellowship with Jeff’s family.
