Stanley L Martin Sr

Stanley Leo Martin, Sr. 88, passed away at his home on July 23, 2017. He was the son of Leo Martinowski and Marianna Teresa Obzud, born on July 7, 1929 in Cleveland Ohio.  Stanley was married to Irene Dolores Krohne on June 1, 1957.

Stanley was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952.  He retired as a meat cutter in the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.

Stanley was a member of the VFW, St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Orwell for 56 years, and enjoyed watching Cleveland sports and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by four sons; John (Janice) Martin, Stanley Jr. (Mary) Martin, Tom (Anna) Martin, and Joe Martin, three daughters; Marianna (Jeffrey) Fink, Margie (David) Hendershott, and Maria (Nathan) Paskey, eighteen grandchildren; Michelle, Dorothy, and Dennis Phillipp, Nicholas Burnett, Alden James Clapper, Stanley L. III (Melissa) Martin, Crystal (James) Sykes, Priscilla (Nick) Sweitzer, Darrell, Michael, Brittany, and Joe Satterfield, George and Ariel Fetchko, Joseph Jr. and Garrett Martin, Katie and Abby Paskey, and seven great-grandchildren; Akaylia Barnhill, Olivia, Austin, and Elise Sykes, Braylon and Brooklyn Sweitzer, and Mikey Reese.

Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 56 years, Irene, and great-grandson Joshua Phillipp.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30am, Thursday, July 27, 2017 at St Mary Roman Catholic Church, 103 N. Maple St. Orwell, OH 44076.  Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the U.S. Army. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church.  

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Roman Catholic Church.

Florists - Flowers need to be delivered directly to St. Mary Church by 9am on Thursday.
