Madeline M Chronister

Coatesville, PA – Madeline M. Chronister, age 86, formally of New Lyme Twp., passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. She was born in Cortland on August 8, 1931 the daughter of John and Maria (Arva) Muresan.

Madeline graduated from Champion High School and was married to Marvin Leroy Chronister Jr. on June 6, 1953. She worked for Kennametal Incorporated of Orwell until her retirement. She was a member of the North Bloomfield Assembly of God and Towerville Christian Church, Coatesville, PA. She enjoyed Moody Bible Ministry, gardening, puzzles, reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent many years teaching Sunday school, VBS and children’s church. She created and facilitated one of the earliest bible clubs in the area. She was known for creating all her own flannel board materials.

Survivors include her children Rand (Lynda) Chronister of Cortland, Tim (Bonnie) Chronister of Farmdale, Rachel (Garry) Wallace of Warren, Brenda (John) Thomas, of Coatesville, PA, who were her caregivers for the past seven years, Dan (Lezlie) Chronister of Cortland, Liz (Mike) Gagne of Cortland, sisters Virginia Whitacre and Rebecca Chapin, 20 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson Josiah Thomas, four brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be held at the Paine Funeral Home, Inc., 140 E. Main St., Orwell OH 44076 on Monday, August 28th 5:00 – 8:00pm. Funeral service officiated by Pastors Garry and Rachel Wallace will be held at the North Bloomfield Assembly of God, 2079 Kinsman Rd., NW, N. Bloomfield, OH 44450 on Tuesday, August 29th at 11:00 am. with visitation prior to the service at the church 10:00 – 10:45am.  Burial will be held at the Brownville Cemetery, New Lyme Twp.

Please have flowers delivered by 1:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
