Rome Twp - James K. Stormer, age 52, died at his home peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2014, with his loving family by his side.
He was born July 12, 1961 in Peru, Indiana.
Jim graduated from Grand Valley High School in Orwell, OH, and went on to receive his Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering from DeVry Technical Institute. He worked for Siemens Health Care for the past 28 years and was employed as a biomedical engineer and an MRI specialist.
Jim loved to ski and snowboard, ride his motorcycle, and spend time with family and friends. He will be especially remembered for his quick wit and amusing anecdotes. He loved to entertain at home, and many enjoyed good times on his back deck.
His parents, John and Sandra of Geneva and Ken and Mary Bentley of Rome, survive him. He is also survived by three sisters, Carole Stormer-Vaux(Tony) of Rome, Karen Stormer and Kathy Stormer both of Painesville, and his longtime friend Colleen Stormer of Rome. His brother Jeffry Alan Stormer preceded him in death in 2009.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday January 18, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Eagleville Bible Church 1981 Rt. 45, Rock Creek, OH with Pastor Bill McMinn officiating. A family greeting will take place prior to service from noon till 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made (note - In memory of James K. Stormer) to the American Cancer Society, 10501 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44106, Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, OH 44004 or the Ashtabula County Animal Protective League (APL), 5970 Green Road, Ashtabula, OH 44004. Envelopes will be available at the church.
