Carol A. Farris

Warren - Carol A. Farris, age 75, of New Lyme Township, died at Trumbull Memorial Hospital on Thursday, December 5, 2013 after a spirited battle against complications from diabetes. She was the daughter of George and Virginia E. (Giddings) Gill born, January 7, 1938 in Warren, Ohio. Carol married Neal M. Farris on December 29, 1956. Carol graduated from Grand Valley High School in 1956. She worked for over twenty years at Kennametal Inc. in Orwell as an inspector. Formerly of Orwell, she and her family moved to New Lyme in 1971. She maintained wonderful friendships that she cherished deeply from living and working in and around Orwell for so many years. She took great pride in preserving the bounty from the gardens that she and her husband tended for so many years. She was an avid reader but also spent much time knitting beautiful afghans as gifts for her family and friends. Her pride and joy was actively watching her granddaughters grow into beautiful, accomplished young women. She was thrilled to get to know her grandson knowing he, too, is on his way to being a terrific, capable young man. Carol is survived by her husband, one daughter, Georgia Farris (William K.) Romanko of Andover, OH, one sister, Mary E. Gill of Warren, OH, and three grandchildren; Megan E. Huffman of Harrisburg, PA, Cassandra A. Huffman of Columbus, OH and Adam W. Romanko of Andover, OH. She is preceded in death by her parents, a stillborn daughter, Cheryl Elaine, and son-in-law, Jerry W. Huffman. A memorial service officiated by Rev. Fred Grimm will be held on Monday, December 9th, 11:00 am at the Brownwood Cemetery Chapel, N. Bloomfield, OH (State Rt. 87 west). A family greeting will take place prior to services at 10:30 am.
